American Barbeque Sauce

    Ingredients

    1 large onion, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1/2 cup celery, chopped
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    3 Tbsp. vinegar
    4 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 1/2 cup catsup
    1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    3/4 cup water

    Directions

    Cook onion, green pepper and celery slowly in
    butter until tender; add remaining ingredients.
    Simmer for 10 minutes.
    Brush on meat during cooking period.
    Makes 3 cups.
