    Vegetable Beef Barley Soup

    Ingredients

    1 1/2 to 2 lb. beef soup meat
    3 1/2 qt. water
    2 1/2 Tbsp. salt
    Dash of pepper
    1 can (No. 2) stewed tomatoes
    1 large onion, diced
    3 carrots, diced
    1/2 cup dried green peas
    1/2 cup dried yellow peas

    Directions

    Cut and trim meat into pieces.  Drop into the
    water; do not brown.  Add rest of the ingredients
    and let come to a boil  Simmer in covered pot for
    4 hours.  Makes a large amount.
