    Meatball Soup with Spaghetti

    Ingredients

    1 cup sliced carrots
    1 cup sliced celery
    1/2 cup sliced green onions
    1/4 cup chopped parsley
    3 beef bouillon cubes
    1 tsp. MSG
    3 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1 cup soft bread crumbs
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 cup spaghetti, broken into small pieces

    Directions

    In kettle or Dutch oven, combine first 6 ingredients,
    2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper and 2 quarts water.  
    Bring to a boil.  Cover and simmer 20 minutes.

    In a mixing bowl, mix remaining salt and pepper,
    the egg, milk and crumbs - let stand a few
    minutes.  Add cheese and beef and mix well.  
    Shape into about 36 balls.  

    Add balls to soup and simmer, covered for 15
    minutes.  Bring to a boil and add spaghetti.  
    Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally for 5
    minutes.
