Divinity Fudge

    Ingredients

    1 cup white corn syrup
    1/2 cup water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 cup sugar
    2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

    Directions

    Combine syrup, water, salt and sugar in a 3-quart
    saucepan.  Boil to 265 degrees or hard-ball
    stage.  Pour over egg whites gradually, beating
    constantly until stiff.  Add vanilla and pecans.  Beat
    again.  
    Pour into slightly oiled pan or drop by teaspoonfuls
    onto waxed paper.  
    Cut into squares when cool.  
    Makes 50 servings.
