Almond Cream Filling
1/4 cup flour 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup cold milk 1 cup hot milk butter 1/2 cup powdered sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup slivered almonds Directions Combine flour, sugar and cold milk. Add to hot milk in saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool to lukewarm. Cream 1/2 cup butter, powdered sugar and vanilla. Add to cooked mixture. Brown almonds in 1 Tbsp. butter. Add to filling. Chill until fim enough to spred on cake or chiffon roll. |
