Jewish Coffee Cake Ingredients 4 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 2 cups sugar 1/2 lb. butter 1 pint sour cream 6 eggs 1/2 tsp. rum flavoring 2 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda Filling: 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 cup chopped nuts Directions Grease tube pan. Mix all ingredients together. Mix filling ingredients in a separate bowl. Put 1/2 the dough in the tube pan, top with half the filling. Put remainder of dough in pan, top with the rest of the filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or toothpick comes out clean. Turn out on serving plate. May drizzle thin frosting on top along with nuts and cherries. |
