Oven-Fried Chicken

    Ingredients

    2 1/2 lbs. chicken, cut up
    1/3 cup flour
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. onion powder
    3/4 tsp. savory leaves
    1 large egg, beaten
    1 Tbsp. water
    1/2 cup fine, dry bread crumbs
    1/2 cup butter

    Mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion
    powder together in a bowl.  Coat each piece of
    chicken with the flour mixture.  Then dip in egg
    blended with water and then coat with bread
    crumbs.  Melt butter in a 10 x 6 baking pan in a hot
    oven.  Place chicken in pan, skin-side down.
    Bake at 400° until chicken is tender, about 50 to
    60 minuts, turning to brown both sides.
    Serves 4.
