Mandarin Orange Muffins

    Ingredients

    1 1/2 cups flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
    1/3 cup shortening
    1/4 cup milk
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 egg, beatened
    8 oz. can mandarin oranges, cut in quarters,
    drained
    Topping:
    1/4 cup butter, melted
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon

    Directions

    Combine dry ingredients; mix well.  Cut in
    shortening.  Combine egg and milk and add all at
    once to dry ingredients, mixing only until
    moistened.  
    Fold in oranges.  Fill greased muffin tins 3/4 full.
    Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Remove from muffin tins while still hot.  Dip tops in
    melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar.
