Lemon Bread

    Ingredients

    1 cup oleo
    2 cups sugar
    4 eggs
    1 cup buttermilk
    Rind of 2 grated lemons
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3 cups flour
    1 cup nuts
    Glaze:
    Juice of 2 lemons
    1/2 cup sugar

    Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.  Add eggs 1 at a time.  
    Add dry ingredients alternatley with buttermilk,
    then add lemon rind and nuts.  Pour into 2 loaf
    pans that have been greased and floured.  
    Bake for 50 to 60 minutes at 350.

    For the glaze; Mix juice and granulated sugar, then
    heat gently.  Carefully spoon over bread
    immediately after removing from oven.  Pull bread
    from sides of pan to prevent running over.  Cool
    completely.  Turn out.
