Short Biscuits

    Ingredients

    2 cups self-rising flour
    3/4 cup milk
    1/2 cup shortening

    Directions

    Place flour in bowl; cut in shortening with pastry
    blender or meat fork.  Add milk, all at one time;
    mix lightly.  Turn out dough onto floured surface;
    knead lightly.  Pat out about 1/2 inch thick or to
    desired thickness.  
    Cut out biscuits; place on baking sheet.
    Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until
    done.
    Butter and serve.
    Makes 15 - 30 servings.
