Orange Biscuits

    Ingredients

    2 cups flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 cup sugar
    juice and grated rind of 1 orange
    milk

    Directions

    Mix part of rind, couple of spoonsful of the juice
    with a little sugar and save for topping.  
    To the remaining juice and rind add milk to make
    3/4 cup of liquid.  After sifting flour, baking
    powder, salt and sugar togehter, add liquid.  
    Roll and cut biscuits.
    Brush tops with sugar and rind mixture.
    Bake at 450 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes, or until
    brown.
