    Hazalnut Potato Biscuits

    Ingredients

    2 cups flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 lb. butter
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. pepper, coarsely ground
    1 cup mashed potatoes
    3/4 cup hazelnuts, chopped
    1 egg yolk mixed with 1 tsp. water

    Directions

    Blend butter, flour, baking powder, garlic, salt and
    pepper to form crumbly mixture.  Add potatoes
    and mix quickly.  Mix in hazelnuts.  
    Roll out dough to 1 inch thick.  Cut into 1 1/2-inch
    rounds.  Criss-cross top of biscuits with knife
    blade, then brush with egg yolk and water mixture.  
    Bake at 375 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes.
    Biscuits are done when they are shiny gold.
