Christmas Cake

    Ingredients

    2 cups raisins
    3 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves or 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    2 cup sugar
    1 cup butter or margarine
    4 cups sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. salt

    Directions

    Combine first 5 ingredients and 2 cups water in
    saucepan; bring to a boil.  Simmer for about 15
    minutes.
    Cool thoroughly.  Add remaining ingredients.
    Turn into 2 small well-greased loaf or tube pans.
    Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 1 hour.
    Cool completely.  
    Store in tightly covered container.
