Blonde Brownies

    Ingredients

    1/4 cup butter
    1 cup light brown sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 cup sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts

    Directions

    Melt butter over low heat.  Remove from heat; stir
    in brown sugar until well blended.  Cool.  Stir in
    egg.  Sift flour, baking powder and salt together;
    stir into butter mixture.  
    Stir in vanilla and walnuts; spread in well greased
    8-inch square pan.  
    Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes.  
    Cut into squares.
